Privacy Policy
Last updated: 04/08/2026
Many Sparrows Coffee is committed to providing quality services to you, and this policy outlines our ongoing obligations to you in respect of how we manage your personal information.
We have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act). The APPs govern the way in which we collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of your personal information.
A copy of the Australian Privacy Principles is available from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au.
What is personal information and why do we collect it?
Personal information is information or an opinion that identifies you as an individual. Examples of personal information we may collect include your name, address, email address and phone number.
We collect this information in a number of ways, including through enquiries and bookings made via our website www.manysparrows.com.au, by email, phone and social media (Instagram and Facebook), in person at events, and - where you're being booked by someone else, such as a wedding or event planner - from that third party on your behalf. We don't guarantee the privacy practices of external websites or platforms we link to or use.
We collect your personal information for the primary purpose of providing our mobile coffee catering services to you, communicating with you about your event booking, and keeping you updated with news and offers (where you've opted in). We may also use it for secondary purposes closely related to these, in circumstances where you'd reasonably expect such use. You can unsubscribe from our mailing list or marketing communications at any time by contacting us in writing.
Where appropriate and possible, we'll explain why we're collecting your information and how we plan to use it at the time we collect it.
Sensitive information
Sensitive information is defined under the Privacy Act to include information or an opinion about things such as an individual's racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, membership of a professional or trade association, criminal record, or health information; for example, dietary or allergy information you share with us when booking catering for your event.
Sensitive information will be used by us only:
-
For the primary purpose for which it was collected
-
For a secondary purpose that is directly related to the primary purpose
-
With your consent, or where required or authorised by law
Third parties
Where reasonable and practicable, we will collect your personal information only from you. In some circumstances, however, we may be provided with your information by a third party; for example, an event planner, venue or wedding coordinator booking us on your behalf. Where this happens, we will take reasonable steps to ensure you are made aware that we hold your information.
Disclosure of personal information
Your personal information may be disclosed in a number of circumstances, including:
-
Where you consent to us disclosing it to a third party; for example, sharing relevant event details with a venue or planner involved in your event
-
Where required or authorised by law
Security of personal information
Your personal information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
When your personal information is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify it. Booking and enquiry records may be retained for a minimum of 5 years for accounting and business purposes.
Cookies
Our website may use cookies to improve your browsing experience and to understand how visitors use our site. You can adjust your browser settings to refuse cookies, though this may affect how some parts of our website function.

Many Sparrows Coffee will not charge a fee for you to request access to your information, but may charge a reasonable administrative fee for providing a copy of it.
We may ask you to verify your identity before releasing any requested information, to help protect your privacy.
Maintaining the quality of your personal information
It is important to us that the personal information we hold about you is accurate, complete and up to date. If you find that your details have changed or are incorrect, please let us know as soon as practicable so we can update our records.
